Instructor, Water and Wastewater Training (Term Part-Time)
School of Continuing Education
 
POSITION TYPE: 3 Part-Time, Term Positions Available (anticipated August 17, 2026 up to July 30, 2027) 

POSITION LOCATION: Various Locations, Hybrid**
 
*We’re currently hiring multiple Water and Wastewater certification instructors to support upcoming deliveries across a range of formats and timelines. Opportunities include online delivery in the Fall and Winter (typically delivered over a 4-day schedule), in-person delivery at our Notre Dame Campus in Spring (4-day format), and on-site private training in Winnipeg and The Pas delivered in 2-week segments, with multiple sessions scheduled throughout Winter and Spring. We are seeking certified operators with Level 2 or higher, and we are also looking for an instructor to develop and deliver an online Water Treatment Level 3 course. We recognize that flexibility is important, and candidates are welcome to apply even if they are only available for select delivery formats or locations.

ABOUT THE TEAM
The School of Continuing Education at RRC Polytech delivers flexible, industry-aligned learning opportunities for adult learners, including full-time and part-time programs, as well as stand-alone courses, micro-credentials, seminars, and workshops. Our offerings support upskilling, reskilling, and career advancement for working professionals across Manitoba and beyond. 
 
WHAT YOU WILL DO
As an instructor within the Regional Campuses and Adult Learning, your responsibilities would include classroom instruction, supervision and guidance of students, student evaluation, advising of students, maintenance of student records and other professional duties related to instruction. Examples of subject areas are Manitoba Water and Wastewater certification exam preparation. The incumbent is also required to participate in department and College committees and assist in student orientation and graduation activities
 
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
  • Water and Wastewater Operator Certification at Level 2 or higher in Manitoba
  • Demonstrated industry experience in water treatment, wastewater treatment, water distribution, or wastewater collection systems
  • Experience interpreting and applying provincial certification requirements and exam preparation content
  • Ability to deliver technical training, presentations, or instruction to adult learners
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to teach on campus or remotely
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
 
NICE TO HAVE
  • Experience developing curriculum and instructing at a post-secondary level
  • Certificate in Teaching for Learning or Adult Education
  • Experience developing and instructing distance-delivered courses including online
  • Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver blended (synchronous and asynchronous) instruction
  • Ability to integrate AI tools and technologies into curriculum delivery and assessment, fostering digital literacy among students
  • Level 3 or higher certification, particularly in Water Treatment

  • Salary Range for this position:  $35.58 - $55.78 hourly*
  • Generous Paid Vacation: full-time employees accumulate a minimum of 15-days vacation per year, increasing to 30 days with service, while full-time Instructors accumulate 44 days per year. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Instructors are required to complete the Teaching for Learning (TFL) in Applied Education program or have previously completed the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)
