Utility Operator

Duties:

The successful candidate will report to the Manager of Utilities and will be responsible for undertaking the operation and maintenance of the Water Supply Systems and Wastewater Treatment Facilities within the RM of Hanover.

 This job requires you to be well organized and communicate effectively. The position will be a minimum of 40 hours/week. The job will include duties such as: recording and communicating information, physically performing water treatment services, and making decisions regarding the daily operations of the water and wastewater systems. There will be some working hours on weekends and being on call.

 Qualifications:

• Must be able to respond to utility emergencies as needed
• High school diploma
• Able to read, write, and speak English fluently
• Able to work well with others and take direction
• A keen attention to detail
• Must be able to complete tasks on schedule without direct supervision
• Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs. (23 kg)

Preference will be given to applicants who:

• • Have Water and Waste Water Class I of II Operator Certification

If you do not have the certification, then you must be willing to enroll and obtain the certification.

Compensation:

The Rural Municipality of Hanover will provide a competitive compensation package, complete with benefits, to the successful applicant according to municipal salary grid and based on qualifications and experience. Pay range for this position is $27.68 to $32.57 per hour.
