Water Wastewater Manager

Reporting to the First Nation Manager, the Water/Wastewater Manager will provide oversight of the operation and maintenance of the water and wastewater treatment plants, water distribution and wastewater collection systems and associated facilities to ensure safe, effective and efficient operations in compliance with all applicable legislation, regulations, policies and certificates of approval. 

Hallmarks of success will include an impressive track record of problem solving and innovation in a highly safety conscious environment; the ability to develop step-by-step processes from targeting a problem to developing a solution; ability to balance time constraints and a heavy workload while managing a complement of staff and projects; time and priority management skills that allow you to identify risk and urgency and to adjust projects and workloads with agility to ensure success.

The likely candidate will possess:

  • 3-year College Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent.
  • Ontario Certifications:
    • E.T.;
    • Class 2 - Water Treatment;
    • Class 2 - Water Distribution;
    • Class 2 - Wastewater Treatment (Zenon membrane facility); and
    • Class 2 - Wastewater Collection.
  • Several years of related ORO and supervisory experience with demonstration of career growth.
